The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with SpaceX, is already working to address the issue of Starlink terminals being used in Russian drones.

According to the Ukrainian portal Militarnyi, Ukraine’s Defense Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, stated that SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and CEO Elon Musk responded quickly to the situation.

Several Russian drones with Starlink internet connectivity began appearing over Ukrainian cities. A few hours after these discoveries, the Ministry of Defense team contacted SpaceX and proposed ways to resolve the issue.

“Western technology should help the democratic world and protect civilians, not be used to terrorize and destroy peaceful cities,” Fedorov emphasized.

It is worth noting that Starlink satellite communication services are officially unavailable in the Russian Federation, so it is believed that the Russians are installing these terminals in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
